What is RE5? you may ask…
Well, RE 5 refers to the Regulatory Examination for Representatives. It’s a mandatory exam for individuals, like brokers and agents, who provide financial services to clients.
People who work in financial services need to prove that they are fit and proper. That is to say…they need to prove that they are competent, to do their job.
So then… for Representatives…this means passing the RE 5.
These videos are designed to help you prepare for the RE 5. But…you must always use the actual reference material WHEN YOU ARE STUDYING.
So, we know that the RE 5 is a multiple-choice exam, made up of 50 questions.
The current pass mark is 65%. That means you will need to get 33 correct answers out of 50.
The exam tests your knowledge, comprehension, application and analysis of the reference material that you need to study.
By reference material, we are referring to:

The FAIS Act and its amendments;

The General Code of Conduct;
-
The F-I-C Act, which is known as FICA;

And the Board notices
These RE 5 videos cover the 8 tasks that you are required to study.
Each task has a number of qualifying criteria.
Think of tasks as…. the main headings. And the qualifying criteria…as sub-headings.
In the videos, we try to simplify the concepts that you need to study. We have lots of pictures and diagrams to help you remember what you are studying.
And then…we have also included questions for you to test yourself.
Whenever you are watching the videos, have the reference material handy. Feel free to go back to watch the videos for the tasks that you are not comfortable with.
